Richard Yu: Huawei Mate 70 Series Phones to Launch in Q4, First to Feature HarmonyOS NEXT Official Version

At the HDC 2024 Huawei Developer Conference this afternoon, Richard Yu( Chengdong), Huawei’s Executive Director, Chairman of the Consumer BG, and Chairman of the Intelligent Automotive Solutions BU, revealed that the Huawei Mate 70 series phones will be released in the fourth quarter of this year (October to December).

In addition, HarmonyOS NEXT began to push the Beta version to developers today, and the Beta version will be released to ordinary consumers in August. The Huawei Mate70 series will be the first to feature the official version of HarmonyOS NEXT, and other devices will also begin to receive the official version from the fourth quarter onwards.

Yu also revealed that HarmonyOS NEXT can achieve a 30% increase in overall device performance and a 20% reduction in power consumption. The HarmonyOS native application development has entered the full sprint stage, with all TOP 5000 apps initiated, meeting 99.9% of user usage time, over 1500 already completed and launched, covering 18 domains.
