JD.com Completes Core Version Development of HarmonyOS Next Native App, Set to Launch on Huawei AppGallery

At today’s JD 618 Media Open Day event, JD.com announced the completion of the core version development of its HarmonyOS Next native application, which is soon to be available on Huawei’s AppGallery. The app is built on JD.com‘s next-generation client technology architecture, enabling one-time coding and multi-platform compilation.

In January of this year, JD.com and Huawei announced their collaboration, officially initiating the development of the HarmonyOS native version of the JD App. This version will support seamless flow across all scenarios and native intelligence features of HarmonyOS NEXT.

As early as June 2021, when HarmonyOS 2.0 was released, JD.com had already invested technical resources to explore HarmonyOS features and introduced a meta-service card that allows rapid product search, expanding the e-commerce shopping scenario.

The newly developed JD HarmonyOS native App leverages HarmonyOS’s AI large model and intent framework to understand both explicit and implicit user intents, thereby matching appropriate services to ensure continuous service and experience, and bringing JD.com continuous, intelligent, and real-time “scenario traffic.”

Additionally, HarmonyOS’s capability for one-time development and multi-device deployment can significantly reduce the cost and workload of developing JD.com‘s HarmonyOS native applications, enabling upgrades on various HarmonyOS ecosystem terminals such as smartphones, tablets, smart TVs, and in-car systems.
