Huawei Renames Programming Language Lab to ‘Cangjie Programming Language’ and Announces Insights at HDC 2024

Huawei’s 2012 Lab, which houses the Programming Language Lab, has renamed its official WeChat public account from “Programming Language Lab” to “Cangjie Programming Language.”

The Huawei HDC 2024 Developer Conference is scheduled to take place from June 21 to 23 in Dongguan, China. According to the main agenda posted on the official website, on June 22, there will be a HarmonyOS Open Class with the theme of “Efficient Development and Practice Sharing of HarmonyOS Native Applications” under the [Development Kit].

During the HarmonyOS Open Class, Huawei’s Chief Technical Expert in Programming Languages will collaborate with representatives from the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China(ICBC) and LeetCode to share insights on “Cangjie Language Facilitating Efficient Development of HarmonyOS Native Applications.”

Huawei had previously applied to register the “Cangjie Language” trademark in 2020. In October 2021, at the Huawei Developer Conference 2021, the HarmonyOS 3 Developer Preview was officially released. Huawei also announced that it would introduce a self-developed programming language for HarmonyOS in the future.
