Huawei is Rumored to Launch Nova Series Foldable Screen Phone in Early August, Upgraded External Screen Design

Huawei insiders and other independent sources have revealed that Huawei is set to release a compact foldable screen phone in the nova series in early August this year.

The report states that Huawei considered launching its nova series vertical foldable phone in May this year, but the release date has been repeatedly postponed. It is now basically confirmed that the official launch will be in the first week of August this year.

According to the source, the upcoming new nova series vertical foldable phone will see a price increase compared to the previous generation of nova products, but it will be lower than the Pocket series. In terms of product appearance, the external screen design will also be further upgraded compared to the new Pocket 2 released this year. The product’s user positioning mainly focuses on young students and people new to their careers.

For reference, Huawei Pocket 2 vertical foldable phone was released in February this year, starting at 7,499 yuan(1000$). Huawei Pocket 2 continues the “pearl double ring” design of its predecessor, featuring four color options: Tahiti Grey, Rococo White, Taro Purple (leather), and Elegant Black (leather). It is equipped with the Xuanwu droplet hinge, which improves flatness by 62%.

In terms of hardware, Huawei Pocket 2 is powered by the Kirin 9000S series processor, supporting bidirectional Beidou satellite messages; it has a 4520mAh battery, supporting 66W wired fast charging + 40W wireless fast charging; the rear camera setup includes a 50MP main camera (f/1.6 aperture, OIS) + 12MP ultra-wide-angle macro (f/2.2 aperture) + 8MP straight telephoto (3x optical zoom, f/2.4 aperture, OIS) + ultra-spectral camera.
