HarmonyOS NEXT Integrates Notification Services: Intelligent Aggregation of Information, Enriched Live Window Interaction

At last week’s Huawei Developer Sub-Conference, the HarmonyOS development team introduced an integrated upgrade to the information notification capabilities of the HarmonyOS NEXT system, with the notification center highlighting important information and enhancing the interactive capabilities of the live window feature.

Push Notifications

Application push notifications will adhere to the principle of “less is more,” reducing redundant messages; the notification center will intelligently aggregate high-frequency scenario repetitive notifications and fold system notifications, highlighting important messages.

Live Window

Application service dynamics will be overlaid on the lock screen, off-screen, notification center, status bar, and the external screen of the small foldable screen, allowing users to view the dynamic changes of service.

The Live Window will provide the following usage scenarios:

  • Ride-hailing
  • Instant delivery
  • Flights
  • High-speed rail / trains
  • Queuing
  • Meal pickup
  • Sports scores
  • Timers
  • Shared rentals
  • Subscription purchases
  • Sports records
  • Navigation

Huawei’s Live Window will provide a unified entry display / style display / interactive experience, covering devices with various screen forms, supporting progress-based, emphasized text-based, and flight / high-speed rail-based layout styles; clicking on the capsule shape expands it into a card, and clicking on the card enters the application.

Examples of Live Window feature usage are as follows:
