First Domestic HarmonyOS Humanoid Robot Being Tested and Validated in NIO and Hengtong Factories, Report Says

According to The Science and Technology Innovation Board Daily, the first domestic humanoid robot equipped with the HarmonyOS operating system, named Kuafu, is currently undergoing testing and validation at factories of NIO and Jiangsu Hengtong Group. It is reported that the application of “Pangu Large Model + Kuafu Humanoid Robot” will be simultaneously promoted in both industrial and household scenarios.

In December last year, Leju Robotics announced the launch of a new robot product, Kuafu, claiming to be “the first domestic humanoid robot capable of jumping and adapting to various terrains with OpenHarmony.” The robot is equipped with KaihongOS developed by Shenkaihong based on OpenHarmony, adopting a fully open-source design, with the motion controller fully open-source, capable of connecting modules such as trajectory planning, feedback control, and state estimation.

In March this year, Haier Robotics and Leju Robotics jointly exhibited the first domestic humanoid robot for household scenarios — Kuafu — at the 2024 China Household Appliances & Consumer Electronics Expo (AWE). As the first domestic humanoid robot capable of jumping and adapting to various terrains with OpenHarmony, at the AWE exhibition site, in addition to demonstrating its jumping and fast walking control performance, it also showcased recent hand operation achievements such as washing, watering flowers, arranging flowers, and hanging clothes.
